Picking the right fit
How to choose a vehicle
Not sure which size you need? These four steps will help you decide in under a minute.
Check the payload first
Payload is the maximum weight the vehicle can legally carry. Always check the combined weight of all your goods — overloading is illegal and can invalidate your insurance cover.
Then measure the volume
Volume tells you the total space available. Use length × width × height of your load — leave 10–15% margin for loading ease and securing straps.
Watch the longest dimension
A load can be within the weight limit but still not fit if it's too long, too wide, or too tall. Double-check the internal dims against your longest item before booking.
When in doubt, size up
Booking a slightly larger vehicle costs a little more but avoids a wasted journey. Our quote engine recommends a vehicle automatically based on what you tell us.
